Annual Biomass Stock and Change Data for National REDD+ Forest Reference Emission Levels: A Direct Estimation Approach
Forest Reference Emission Levels (FRELs) underpin REDD+ results-based payments, yet most still rely on methods that overlook forest degradation and mask true emissions. Evidence from multiple biomes shows degradation accounts for up to three-quarters of forest emissions.
