Dr. Crawford is the field veterinarian for the Madagascar Fauna Group and as such is involved in an ongoing
program dedicated to releasing captive-bred lemurs back into the wild.

Dear Wildlife Works,
This was taken in June this year in Namibia, at the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
I volunteered there for 2 weeks, because I actually wanted to be there and help out.
I got a chance to pet some cheetahs, and it was the most exhilarating moment of my life! That's as crazy as my story gets! Well anyway, "being there" physically doing everything and being around these beautiful animals has inspired me enough to take up a career in conservation even if it means having to start all over again.
I look at this picture every so often and relive some of the most memorable moments of my life...... I mean how many people can say they've been so close to a cheetah?
I'm grateful i can.........

Dear Wildlife Works,
I've recently returned from a visit to Camp Leakey in Kalimantan. Camp
Leakey is located in the Tanjang Puting Preserve in Indonesia and the park
is currently being illegally logged at an alarming rate. An increase in
tourism might help encourage the Indonesian government to increase measures
to protect the park. Visitors are in for a remarkable experience. I was
lucky enough to receive a warm welcome from Tutut (see attached photo).
