What is Member Safari ?

It recently occurred to us here at Wildlife Works central that among our thousands of animal loving customers there are probably a good number of you who get out and about to wildlife locations far and wide. And then we thought, wouldn't it be fun to show photos of our customers indulging their passion and visiting with wild nature. So we thought we'd ask you if you like the idea! If you have photos of yourself in the wild, or that you took of wildlife that you want to share with us, send them to photo@wildlife-works.com. Bonus points will be awarded if you send us the story behind the photos.

Crazy idea eh?!

But guess what ? We were right. Here is one of our early customers, Michelle Kemler, in Kalimantan, Indonesia at an Orangutan reserve, and the story she sent along.

Dear Wildlife Works,
I've recently returned from a visit to Camp Leakey in Kalimantan. Camp Leakey is located in the Tanjang Puting Preserve in Indonesia and the park is currently being illegally logged at an alarming rate. An increase in tourism might help encourage the Indonesian government to increase measures to protect the park. Visitors are in for a remarkable experience. I was lucky enough to receive a warm welcome from Tutut (see attached photo).
Thanks, Michelle Kemler

Disclaimer - direct contact with the orangutans is not encouraged and visitors should never initiate contact.

Now to keep the lawyers happy; you must include a copyright release allowing us to display the image on our web site. We will credit the photographer in all cases, so you can make yourself a photographic star!
