These beautiful, vibrant baskets are handwoven by women's cooperatives located on the edge of Tsavo National Park, Kenya's oldest and largest protected open space. These cooperatives give their members a means to attain financial self-sufficiency in a very depressed region of Kenya.

Kiondos (which means basket in Kiswahili) are traditionally made of fiber taken from the bark of the Baobab tree, but our version is made from tightly woven sisal, which is a sustainable plant that grows throughout Kenya. Extremely durable, these baskets will take a beating and still look great.

Our Totally Natural basket is made from natural sisal. The tri-color bags are made from natural sisal, banana fiber and mud/bark-dyed sisal.
