Did you know?
There are two highly endangered subspecies of Zebra, the Mountain Zebra and the Grevy's Zebra. Wildlife Works' Rukinga Sanctuary has a small herd of Grevy's zebras, one of four endangered species present on our sanctuary. The good news: zebras are relatively widespread throughout Africa, including Southern Africa, where the great Zambezi River runs and plunges over Victoria Falls. The bad news: in many places, zebras continue to be hunted for their meat and hides.
