Did you know?
There are thought to be less than 5,000 Bengal Tigers left in the wild today, down from 100,000 in India at the beginning of last century. The Bengal Tiger is one of the five remaining tiger subspecies, which are all highly endangered due to habitat loss and poaching to serve the traditional medicine market in China. The four remaining subspecies of tiger each have fewer than 2,000 individuals left, with only 20 of the rare South China Tigers existing today. Time has run out for three other species - the Caspian, the Javan and the Balinese Tigers - which all became extinct during the 20th century.
Your Purchase Matters
Every
time you buy a Wildlife Works product, you help us build a
brighter future for endangered wildlife and their habitats.
It's called Consumer Powered
Conservationsm - and you make it work.
There are two key issues facing the world's wildlife today:
- Destruction of habitat by humans, and
- Poaching by poor, hungry rural people for money or meat.
Wildlife Works is addressing both of these issues
head on. We use the proceeds from your purchases
to protect wildlife by placing large areas of
wilderness under conservation, like we did with our Rukinga
Sanctuary in Kenya. Of equal importance, we
provide jobs for the people who share their land and resources
with wildlife, so they can feed their families and send
their children to school without destroying animals and their
habitats.
Remember, Consumer Powered
Conservationsm only works because of you,
and it works even better when more people get involved. So,
help spread the word! |
