our mission
Meet the women who make your products.

Here are a few of the stories of the women who make your products in our Ecofactory at our Rukinga sanctuary in Kenya. Our story is really their story. They become our champions in their community, asking their friends and families to forego poaching to protect their jobs, and the independence it gives them.

Loizer Mighulo, 38 years
My name is Loizer, I am married and I have 4 children aged 16yrs, 15yrs, 13yrs and 10yrs.

My husband has no job. I applied for a job in 2000 at Wildlife Works after hearing about it from a neighbor who used to work here. I did not get the job then. I got employed this year –2005, January. I received training on machine use for 4 months and began work in May. I used to work at Umoja Company in Mombasa, making shoes. I was staying away from my family and so it was a good thing to get a job near home. Having a job at Wildlife Works, which is near home to my children has helped me settle. Am still in the process and I hope that with time I will be well established. I pray that we will get more work so as to get increased income to help our families more.
