our mission
Meet the women who make your products.

Here are a few of the stories of the women who make your products in our Ecofactory at our Rukinga sanctuary in Kenya. Our story is really their story. They become our champions in their community, asking their friends and families to forego poaching to protect their jobs, and the independence it gives them.

Elizabeth Chepkemboi, 19 years
My name is Liz. Am single and have no children.

I got to hear about wildlife works from some of the ladies who are working here and applied. I got employed in January 2005. I left school after class 8 because my parents could not afford to pay for my secondary school fees. A relative paid for me to do a 2-year course in tailoring at a technical college. Now that I have a job, am able to help my father financially. My mother passed away. Our livelihoods have improved and I am able to plan for my life well. Working at the factory is like being in a family. I am the youngest and the other ladies are like big sisters. They teach me a lot both in the sewing skills and also in general life issues. I thank God for this job. It has made a great difference for me.
