Global Green

The U.S. affiliate of Green Cross International, Global Green fosters a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure world through education, advocacy, partnerships, and programs.  In 1993, Mikhail Gorbachev founded Green Cross and devoted his attention to what he foresaw as the greatest challenge to the 21st century:  the environment.

Global Green helps to eliminate weapons of mass destruction, stem climate change, reduce resource use, and provide fresh water to the world.  Global Green has innovative programs that promote renewable energy, solar panels, green buildings, green schools, recycling, fresh water, and hybrid-electric cars (celebrities in Prius hybrids at the Oscars).

Wildlife Works Kids Shoes for Conservation Project

Wildlife Works operates an 80,000 acre wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, and operates an ecofactory there where we trained local women at risk from AIDS and prostitution to make garments for the US market. The jobs we provide allow the women to feed their children without resorting to killing the magnificent wild animals with which they share their environment. We collected donations of running shoes locally here in California for the children in the community who have no shoes, and we will use some of the proceeds of our event to ship those shoes to the children in the community. This gift to the children will bring better health, as many diseases are transmitted through bare feet, and will create more goodwill towards the animals that brought Wildlife Works into their community. This project is tax deductible through our partnership with existing US 501c(3) organizations.
